Summary of the Discussion Session Content and Duration: ASCE 61-25 is the second edition of the Standard document for seismic design of piers and wharves. The first edition, ASCE 61-14 was the first ASCE Standard document ever developed by COPRI. After several years of use, the “new and improved” document is now ready, with a completely new chapter on bulkhead design and several significant modifications to other chapters. The session will consist of a series of short presentations (~5 minutes) by Chapter leads on the significant updates to the Standard, with a Q&A session to allow users to ask questions.

Target Audience for the Discussion Session: Practicing engineers

Description of the Benefit of the Discussion Session to Conference Attendees: Many attendees will be regular users of the document, or familiar with the document and its content. This will almost certainly be the only time that the primary authors will be together to explain key changes and what is behind them to a group of users. Because the document will be newly released, the timing is optimal for this discussion among professionals in this conference.
