Carlos E. Ospina is Principal and Vice President with Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) in Houston. Carlos has over 31 years of experience in structural engineering, 18 of them devoted to design and support during construction of near shore marine infrastructure projects in over 25 countries, mainly in Latin America and the Caribbean basin. In addition to his consulting work experience, Carlos is heavily involved in technical committee activities including full voting member of ACI 318 (Structural Concrete Building Code), ASCE/COPRI 61 (Seismic Design of Pile-supported Piers and Wharves) and PIANC WG 225 (Seismic Design of Port Structures).
