Rajeev Seetharam is the Deputy Chief Harbor Engineer at the Port of Long Beach, where he leads the Traffic, Civil, and Electrical Engineering teams within the Engineering Design Division. With 21 years of experience, Rajeev directs a range of capital improvement projects, manages consultant contracts, and oversees the development and revision of design standards. He collaborates closely with both internal and external stakeholders and acts as a liaison with various external agencies to ensure project success. Rajeev began his career in private consulting before transitioning to the public sector. He is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer and Traffic Engineer in the State of California. He is a Certified Port Executive (CPE) and also a Certified Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). Additionally, Rajeev serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Viterbi Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California. He earned his Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Engineering from Bangalore, India. Rajeev is also an appointed member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Center for Freight Transportation for Efficient & Resilient Supply Chain (FERSC), contributing to research and policy development as part of a University Transportation Center (UTC) consortium.
