Mr. Shannon Clarke, of Mott MacDonald, Delray Beach, has worked in the waterfront, ports, coastal and marine engineering fields since attaining a masters degree in Maritime Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology. During his career, he has carried out several engineering inspections at various waterfront facilities and structures such as port terminals, bridges, floating ferry landings, shoreline revetments, breakwaters and marinas, while also carrying out a wide array of design, feasibility studies and structural evaluation tasks. Shannon's current work on port terminals, with particular attention to mooring and berthing analyses, scour assessment and design of scour protection measures has provided the groundwork for the material being presented.
