Chris Gilmore is the Director of Engineering & Environmental for the Port of New Orleans. In this role, he manages Port NOLA’s Engineering, Construction Management, Program Management, Permitting, and Environmental staff. Mr. Gilmore has over 26 years of engineering design, project management, and construction management experience. Prior to joining Port NOLA, Mr. Gilmore served as a Sr. Project Manager at the US Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District. In that role he was responsible for the planning, design, and construction of a large portion of the post-Katrina hurricane risk reduction system. Mr. Gilmore’s design and management skills encompass a variety of projects ranging from small ecosystem restoration projects to multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects. At his time at the Corps of Engineers, Mr. Gilmore served as the U.S. liaison to an international team of storm surge barrier experts. He is a lifelong resident of South Louisiana and a Graduate of the University of New Orleans
