Dominique Polte

Dominique Polte has built a notable career in the maritime industry over the past two decades, marked by significant experience in fender design, manufacturing, and testing.

Dominique joined FenderTeam GmbH as a Sales Manager in 2007 just after the company was founded. Then quickly advanced to Sales Director and Partner in the company. In 2009, Dominique initiated the start of the US operation and moved to the US in 2010 to head the markets in the Americas as President of ShibataFenderTeam Inc. In 2016, he was appointed to the board of the company, a role is has held since.

He actively contributes to PIANC International, the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure. Over the last four years, he has been particularly involved in Working Group 211, which was responsible for the preparation and publishing of the PIANC Fender Guidelines 2024. In this group, Dominique has served as chapter lead, supporting the development of safer and more efficient waterborne transport infrastructure worldwide.
