Steven Reel, PE, is the Port’s Seawall Program Manager. He is a licensed civil engineer with an MS in structural engineering from Stanford University and a BS in civil engineering from Bucknell University. Steven joined the Port in 2009 as a Project Manager in the Engineering Division and has been responsible for delivering projects such as the Brannan Street Wharf, Pier 43 Bay Trail Link, Pier 36 removal, Heron’s Head Park Improvements, Quint Street Lead Replacement, and the Bayview Gateway. Prior to joining the Port, Steven worked as a consulting engineer in San Francisco for 15 years; notable engineering projects include the earthquake retrofit of BART’s West Oakland Station, earthquake retrofit of SFO’s Upper Level Viaduct, and the design of the Illinois Street Intermodal Bridge, a non-counterweighted bascule bridge in San Francisco.
