Kirk Riden, P.E. is a Vice President at Appledore Marine Engineering and has more than 20 years of experience in the management and performance of inspection, evaluation, and design of waterfront, coastal, and offshore structures. He is a certified commercial diver with inspection and design experience on new and rehabilitated offshore and waterfront facilities, including bridges, shipyard facilities, mobile offshore drilling units (jack-ups and semisubmersibles), bulkheads, piers, urban public access waterfronts, and shore side civil works. Kirk has worked on waterfront and ocean facility projects in Japan, Diego Garcia, Guam, Qatar, UAE, Singapore, Europe, and Africa as well as throughout North America and the Caribbean. Kirk was actively involved as a contributing author on the ASCE’s “Waterfront Facilities Inspection Standard Practice Manual” and also the upcoming ASCE Waterfront Rehabilitation Manual. Prior to joining Appledore, Kirk served as department head for CH2M HILL’s underwater inspection and rehabilitation practice in his roles as Vice President and Global Practice Leader for Maritime Asset Evaluation.
