Greg Fischer, Ph.D., P.E., DGE, F. ASCE, is the President of Shannon & Wilson and has over 35 years of geotechnical and civil engineering experience. He has a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering, is the author of over 25 technical papers, and has taught geotechnical and foundation engineering classes at several universities. His extensive consulting experience includes managing the geotechnical services on large, fast-track projects in a variety of geological conditions and under multiple delivery methods. His experience includes providing foundation recommendations for structures; designing cut-and-fill retaining walls; evaluating slope stability, landslides, and rockfall hazards; providing seismic design recommendations; and providing recommendations for deep excavations and tall fills. He has also developed plans and specifications, overseen construction inspection, and served as an expert witness on numerous occasions. His projects have been completed in more than 25 states and in 5 countries.
