Ashebir Jacob has more than 30 years’ port sector experience and is a Moffatt & Nichol vice president, charged with leading the company’s Smart Port initiatives and the company’s simulation and emulation teams. He has been involved in the planning, design, and construction of port projects worldwide for automated, semi-automated, and conventional terminals.

Ash has extensive experience in the development of criteria for TOS development, automated container handling equipment, system integration, testing, acceptance, training, and continuous improvement. His automated terminal experience has included defining the terminal business case, performing feasibility analyses, developing terminal layout options, and establishing simulation and static analysis criteria.
