Brian DeBaun, PE holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rowan University and an M.Eng. in Structural Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He is an Association of Diving Contractors International certified diver and diving supervisor with more than 16 years of hands-on experience in inspecting, assessing, designing, and analyzing waterfront structures, dams, and highway and rail bridges. Brian is also a licensed remote pilot and an expert in utilizing small unmanned aerial systems, remote-operated vehicles, and SONAR systems to augment both above and underwater inspections. Over his 11 years with Jacobs, he has led waterfront assessments of a wide range of marine structures including piers, wharves, quays, floating docks, seawalls, revetments, dry docks, and buoys across five continents. In this capacity, Brian has been responsible for post-event assessments and designed rehabilitation measures for critical infrastructure following vessel allisions, storm events, and tsunamis. Brian is also holds and an Insititue of Asset Management Cewrtificate and is a Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines profressional. He is well versed in the complete life cycle of marine assets, including planning, structural design, construction oversight, condition assessment, post-event assessment, analysis, design of rehabilitation, preventative maintenance, and service life improvements.
