Cheryl W. Coviello. P.E., BC. PE is an Associate Principal with GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. She has more than 25 years of experience over a broad range of waterfront and near-shore projects in the Northeast region of the U.S. including port terminals, municipal marinas and piers, commercial fishing facilities, federal government military installations, shipyards, private marine terminals, state departments of transportation, and residential properties. She advances awareness of potential vulnerabilities and adaptation planning for marine infrastructure and coastal features through her involvement with various organizations and project development.
She is an active member of ASCE-COPRI Ports and Harbors Committee, the Design Standard for Piers and Wharves Committee, and the Ports Conference Planning Committee (Ports’25 and Ports’28). On a local level, Ms. Coviello is a board member and past president of the International Propeller Club of the United States – Port of Portsmouth and a board member of the Portsmouth Submarine Memorial Association – U.S.S. Albacore Park. In addition, Ms. Coviello has served as an adjunct professor with the University of New Hampshire and shares her passion for structural waterfront engineering through outreach.
