Nathan Watson, PE, is a principal at KPFF Consulting Engineers in Seattle and has over 27 years of experience with a focus on management, planning, and design of large Port waterfront site redevelopment programs. He graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering from MIT in 1995 and worked for 6 years doing machinery design for movable bridges, ferry loading ramps and other heavy movable structures. He has been at KPFF for over 21 years. Nathan’s unique dual qualifications as both a registered civil and mechanical engineer has proven to be particularly useful to manage and coordinate multidiscipline projects on waterfront industrial sites. Nathan’s experience includes both large capital projects and on-call/IDIQ contracts for Port agencies, ferry/cruise terminals and shipyards in Washington, Oregon, California and Mississippi. Nathan has managed projects ranging from wharf upgrades, berth deepenings/dredging, terminal redevelopments, utility infrastructure upgrades, upland cleanup projects, and marine habitat mitigation projects.
