Mike Winters, P.E. is a senior structural engineer with Moffatt & Nichol. During his 28-year professional career, he has developed unique expertise on the specialized subject of ship and barge collisions with bridges. As a part of Working Group 215, Mike is the principal U.S. representative to an international committee established by the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) to develop updated guidelines associated with ship and barge collisions with bridges and other fixed structures. Mike is also part of an international committee established by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) to update Structural Engineering Document 4 Ship Collision with Bridges - the Interaction between Vessel Traffic and Bridge Structures.
