Eric T. Fleet joined the SGH Structural Engineering group in Chicago, Illinois in 2019. In his time with SGH, he has worked on a broad variety of projects involving the repair and rehabilitation of existing marine oil terminal structures, investigation of precast facade panel systems and glass enclosure systems, seismic qualifications of structural components for nuclear applications, and analysis of marine oil terminal reinforced concrete platform structures for nonlinear seismic applications. Eric serves as the Outreach Chair for the SEAOI Young Engineers Committee and is an active member of SGH’s SE 2050 working group. He has helped develop the firm’s annual Embodied Carbon Action Plan and helped report embodied carbon takeoffs of SGH projects to meet annual GWP reduction goals. His previous experience includes the rehabilitation of buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places, new design of retail spaces, and extensive research on bond strength and confinement of reinforced concrete using high-strength steel bars.
